We are excited to announce a collaborative presentation by three industry experts on the topic of “OpenStack Private Cloud in CARNET – Lessons Learned” at the DORS/CLUC conference!

Damir Lukić, Saša Davidović, and Hrvoje Cvetković bring a wealth of experience and diverse backgrounds in the field of open-source technologies, cloud infrastructure, and system administration.

Damir Lukić is a dedicated employee of CARNET’s Computer Infrastructure and Services Sector. He is a bug chaser and FLOSS enthusiast.

Saša Davidović also works at CARNET in the Computer Infrastructure and Services Sector, with a long history of using, supporting, and contributing to open-source projects. He enjoys exploring new technologies and expanding his knowledge.
Hrvoje Cvetković, with over 25 years of experience as an open-source user, is currently with Axians. He has over 10 years of hands-on OpenStack experience and possesses extensive knowledge of both cloud infrastructure and software design.

In this presentation, the speakers will focus on process behind consolidating their data center to a single cloud platform. They will explain why they chose OpenStack as the solution and delve into the challenges they faced during the implementation of the OpenStack platform.

The presentation will cover:

Everyday usage of OpenStack, including tasks like user and project administration, managing volume backends, and handling volume migrations.
The process of making online system changes and reconfiguring OpenStack as needed, sharing the lessons learned and best practices from their real-world experience.
