David Dubrović is a long-time Linux user and passionate technology enthusiast. His experience includes working as an embedded Linux developer, and for the past decade, he has been involved in audio and video production, often using free software and Linux.

Linux is already well-known in the server world, and many are still waiting for “The year of the Linux desktop.” But did you know that Linux has been present on desktops for many years now, even in an industry you would most likely assume is monopolized by Apple?

This talk will provide a historical overview of Linux usage in the film and video industry, revealing the role this operating system plays in industries typically associated with other platforms.
