We are excited to announce that Marko Lohert will be joining us as a speaker at the DORS/CLUC conference!

Marko is a senior software developer with over 15 years of professional experience. Throughout his career, he has worked on the development of web and desktop applications and has presented at numerous conferences across the region. In addition, Marko is actively involved in volunteer work – mentoring ICT professionals and teaching children programming, electronics (Arduino), and robotics.

At the DORS/CLUC conference, Marko will explain when and how we can use vector databases, how they are applied for searching similar images, texts, and enhancing LLM models, and everything you need to know about these databases.

Marko will give a talk on what embeddings are, how to calculate them, and the different types of embeddings available. He will also introduce popular open-source vector databases like Chroma, Milvus, and Weaviate, as well as a PostgreSQL extension that supports vector data.
